Join us!

Falmouth Academy hosts a number of public events, some in partnership with other organizations, at various venues within its new Simon Center for the Arts. Join us for concerts, lectures, and presentations throughout the year. Falmouth Academy Community Series

Falmouth Academy inaugurated the Community Series in 2001 with Atlantic correspondent Robert Kaplan. Speakers have included NPR’s Bill Littlefield; former CBS Moscow Bureau chief, Dr. Beth Knobel; and Robert H. Pelletreau, former Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs. The lectures, which celebrate community, are supported in part by the Woods Hole Foundation. This year's Community Series presentations are pre-recorded and will be available virtually via various community television stations including FCTV, ORCTV, CC Community Media Ctr, Mashpee TV, Sandwich Community Television. It will also be available on FA’s Facebook page and YouTube Channel and linked on this page when they are available.  Information about this season's events is below.

Naturalist Robert Finch
Widely regarded as one of America's leading nature writers, Cape Cod's Robert Finch has published seven books of essays and is co-editor of The Norton Book of Nature Writing. His popular weekly radio show on WCAI received the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award for Radio Writing in 2005 and 2013.

Talking about Writing
Jean Hanff Korelitz, author of  NY Times Bestseller, The Plot

Jean Hanff Korelitz is the author of seven novels, including The Plot (featured on The Tonight Show as Fallon’s must-read pick for summer 2021), You Should Have Known (adapted as an HBO’s 2020 limited series “The Undoing” by David E. Kelley starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant), and Admission (the basis for the 2013 film starring Tina Fey). Her latest novel, The Latecomer will be published in May.

Chase the Turkey Race


For over twenty years, Falmouth Academy has hosted an annual Chase-the-Turkey Race to benefit the Falmouth Service Center. Runners of all ages register in advance and come out on Thanksgiving morning to start the day with some family-friendly fun and exercise and to do some good before gathering to give thanks.

Community Event Partnerships

Robert Wyatt Presents

Falmouth Academy sponsors the Robert Wyatt Presents series. Steinway artist Robert Wyatt delights audiences with a rare blend of pianistic savvy and engaging storytelling that makes each performance a creative event. His recitals have garnered sterling reviews nationwide and are performed in a narrative performance format. Recent popular lectures include "The Beatles and Their Magical Mystery Tour," "Fred Astaire" and "Gershwin, By George!"

Skylark in Concert

Grammy-nominated Skylark, “the cream of the American crop” (BBC Radio 3), is a premier vocal ensemble of leading American vocal soloists, chamber musicians, and music educators. Skylark’s dramatic performances have been described as “gripping” (The Times of London), “exquisite...thrilling” (Gramophone Magazine), and “awe-inspiring” (Boston Music Intelligencer). With “some of Boston’s best singers” (Boston Globe), the voices of Skylark “can sway you softly into calm and then all but throw you across the room with sheer harmonic force” (Thought Catalog). Film Falmouth

Film Falmouth screens independent films monthly throughout the fall, winter and spring at Falmouth Academy. The series is supported in part by grants from the Cape Cod 5 Charitable Foundation Trust, the Falmouth Fund of the Cape Cod Foundation, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Falmouth Chorale
