How to Apply

The Admission Process

We are excited to learn of your interest in applying to Falmouth Academy!  We welcome applications for grades 7 through 12 and look forward to working with you throughout the admissions process.  The initial admission application deadline is February 1 for a March 10 notification.  Applications received after the deadline are reviewed upon completion.  Please contact the Admission Office for information about openings in select grades.

  • Step 1: Inquire

    If you do not already have a MyFA online account, please start the application process by filling out an inquiry form on our “Request Information” page on our website.  

    Once you’ve inquired, you will be mailed information about Falmouth Academy and set up with an account to start the admission application process.  If you do not receive information with your username and password after inquiring, please reach out to admissions@falmouthacademy.org and we will work with you to ensure you can access the online application and checklist.

  • Step 2: Complete Student and Parent/Guardian Application

    We are excited to have your family start the online application! Once you have been set up with a username and password through the inquiry process, please log into your MyFA account to access the online application.  Once logged on, you can begin to fill out the student and parent/guardian application.

    The cost of the application is $65 for domestic students and $100 for international students. The application fee can be paid online through the application portal.  While the online Falmouth Academy admission application is preferred, we also accept the EMA's Standard Application Online (SAO)

  • Step 3: Schedule a Day Visit and Interview

    All applicants to Falmouth Academy are required to complete an admissions interview. The interview process varies by grade level.

    Middle School Applicants (Grades 7–8)
    Applicants to grades 7 and 8 are required to spend a full school day visiting classes and meeting fellow students. The visit runs from 8:15 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. and typically includes classes with the grade to which the student is applying. Each visitor is paired with a current student, with shared interests in mind. The admissions interview takes place on the same day as the visit.

    High School Applicants (Grades 9–12)
    High school applicants must complete an interview and are welcome to attend a full-day visit, but it is not required. Applicants may complete their admissions interview through one of three options:
    • Full-day visit: Spend the day attending classes and getting to know the FA community. An interview will be completed during the visit. The day runs from 8:15 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.
    • On-campus interview: Visit campus for a tour, attend a class, and meet with a member of the admissions team.
    • Zoom interview: Meet virtually with a member of the admissions team.

    Scheduling Your Visit or Interview
    Schedule your visit or interview through your online application checklist in MyFA by selecting the “Schedule an interview” button.

    If you are unable to schedule through your Falmouth Academy online account, please email admissions@falmouthacademy.org.

  • Step 4: Request Transcript

    Please request an official transcript from your student’s current school.  The transcript should include grades from the last three years plus the first trimester or semester of the current academic year.  A transcript release form can be found on your MyFA account.

  • Step 5: Request Recommendations

    To help the Admission Office learn more about your student and his or her academic strengths, we ask to hear from your student’s current English and math teachers.  Please send recommendation requests through your MyFA application checklist. 
     

  • Step 6: Complete a Tuition Assistance Application

    Falmouth Academy offers need-based aid to qualified students. Please visit the Tuition and Affordability page on the Falmouth Academy website for more information on how to apply. Tuition assistance applications are due February 1.

  • Homeschooled Students

    Falmouth Academy welcomes applications from homeschooled students. We value the unique educational experiences homeschooling provides and want to learn more about your academic journey. Below are our guidelines and requirements to help you navigate the application process.

    Requirements for Homeschooled Students:
    1. Complete the Application Checklist through MyFA
      Complete the Falmouth Academy application online through our MyFA admissions portal.
    2. Provide a Summary of Your Homeschool Curriculum
      Submit a comprehensive overview of your homeschooling curriculum, including course descriptions and materials used. This can include the homeschooling documentation plans that are reviewed and approved by the school district.
    3. Standardized Test Scores
      Submit SSAT scores or another approved standardized test. Contact the Admission Office to discuss alternative test options if applicable.
    4. Recommendation Letters
      If a parent is the primary instructor, at least one letter must come from a non-parent (e.g., tutor, coach, youth leader, or other mentor) who can speak to the applicant’s academic abilities or personal qualities, such as teamwork and leadership.
    5. Essay Prompt
      Write a response of 250 words or fewer to the following question and email it to admission@falmouthacademy.org.

  • International Students

    Falmouth Academy has welcomed international students from over 25 different countries to campus. Currently, international students live with host families, who provide a safe, comfortable family environment. 

    Please note: All international student applicants must demonstrate proficiency in speaking and reading English in order to be considered for admission. The school does not offer English as a Second Language (ESL) classes.

    Requirements for International Students:
    1. Complete the Application through MyFA, SAO, or Personal Consultant
      Falmouth Academy requires all applicants to complete a student/parent application, an English teacher recommendation, a math teacher recommendation, and a school transcript.  The application can also be a standard application through a consultant.
    2. Submit English Proficiency Test Scores
      For applicants whose first language is not English, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required. Test scores should be sent to Falmouth Academy from TOEFL directly. Falmouth Academy will also consider Duolingo's English Proficiency test.  If you have questions about which test is the right fit for you, please visit their websites or contact our office at admission@falmouthacdemy.org.
    3. Schedule a Zoom Interview
      Please reach out to admission@falmouthacademy.org to find a day and time that works to have an interview.  Our office wants to know who you are and your interest in our school.

Tuition Assistance

Falmouth Academy offers need-based aid to qualified students. Please visit the Tuition and Affordability page on the Falmouth Academy website for more information.

Falmouth Academy uses Clarity in helping to determine a family’s financial need. Please visit the Tuition Assistance Application for instructions on how to begin the application process.  Tuition assistance applications are due February 1 for new families. Families need to reapply for tuition assistance each year.

  • Complete the Parent/Guardian and Student application
  • Request the necessary forms and documentation from your student's current schools and teachers
  • Ensure your application checklist is complete by February 1
  • Complete the tuition assistance application by February 1 (if applicable)
March - April:
  • Receive and review the admission and tuition assistance decisions through your MyFA account on March 10
  • Attend Revisit Day in April
  • Notify Falmouth Academy of your enrollment decisions by April 10
April - August:
  • Rolling admission where space is available
