Graffiti Wall Makeover
Students in Mr. Barnes' Changing Earth history class worked with art teacher Lucy Nelson on an Arts-Across-the-Curriculum project to create public art related to the aims of the cross-curricular ninth-grade program to explore the challenges of our times in science, history, and English. Students storyboarded ideas and submitted concept pieces for consideration that were put up for a vote by the faculty.
The top two choices were "Stellwagen" by Max Donovan and "Remember to Smell the Roses" by Emma Bena. These two designs were then deconstructed to scale and transferred to Falmouth Academy's graffiti wall in the art wing. A time-lapse video captured the creative process (click the QR code to view).
