Falmouth Academy’s “Auction Under the Stars” Fundraiser Moves Online
Bidding Open Now; Live Event via Zoom to be held May 16, 7 PM
Falmouth Academy continues to respond to the coronavirus pandemic, transforming its academic program into a robust remote learning experience and reimagining its annual fundraising auction.
FA’s signature fundraising event “Auction Under the Stars” will now take place entirely online; the event is open to the public. Fund-our-Mission, contributions to which support FA’s Resiliency Fund designed to meet the emerging needs of students and faculty in light of the pandemic, and the “Live” Auction open May 1. The event culminates with a lively Zoom gathering, hosted by Head of School Matt Green and featuring performances and clips from our students and remote classrooms, from 7 to 8:30 PM on Saturday, May 16. The goal is to raise at least $60,000 in support of the school’s students, faculty, and programs.
Thanks to the generosity of more than 150 donors, there’s something for everyone at the FA Auction: scores of gift certificates, vacation vouchers, merchandise, activities, and hand-made goods. Live Auction items include a painting by renowned artist Joseph McGurl, a Gershwin evening in your home with musical raconteur Robert Wyatt, a weekend on Martha’s Vineyard, week-long getaways at either a St. Lawrence River cottage or a seaside retreat on Deer Island, ME, Kenny Chesney concert tickets, an oil painting of Quissett Harbor by Julia O’Malley-Keyes, sets of Red Sox tickets, services by C.H. Newton Builders and Eck MacNeely Architects, and much more.
