Research Skills
Research skills-building through a project-based curriculum for 9th graders.
The 9th-grade curriculum centers on academic research and the skills needed to be a successful high school student. Lessons follow the course of two projects, an independent research project for Science Fair and a Medieval research paper and presentation.
Support for all aspects of these projects is provided during the class, including finding relevant and reliable resources, paraphrasing and organizing of information, and creating effective written and oral presentations. The course is taught in collaboration with 9th-grade science and history teachers.
