Falmouth Academy (FA) is committed to protecting the privacy of the information entrusted to us by our families, students, alumni, and the community who support us. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect and its uses to effectively deliver the highest quality educational experience possible.

Please note that we may use or disclose personal information if we reasonably believe that doing so is necessary to protect the rights and safety of FA, its community, or others; to prevent fraud or abuse; to comply with a law enforcement investigation, a judicial or regulatory proceeding, or a court order, or an applicable legal requirement.

PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION
FA endeavors to only collect information pertinent to managing the daily operations of our school and its community outreach programming. The types of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) may include your name, mailing address, email address, phone number, date of birth, credit/debit card number or banking information (which we do not keep on file), and other information. 

WHY WE COLLECT PII
FA collects PII to provide services and information to you. When viewing our website you may be asked to enter PII when subscribing to school communications, inquiring about admission events, applying to, enrolling in, and attending our school, summer camps, and other school-sponsored activities and programs, complying with a financial obligation, such as paying tuition and fees, accessing our “MyFA” portal, making a donation, connecting with Alumni, renting or requesting permission to use facilities, responding to a job posting, applying to and working at FA, or providing feedback to us.

COOKIES 
Cookies are small data files that a website may place on your computer or mobile device on your initial visit to a site and are used to identify the user on subsequent visits. The information collected by the cookie helps to evaluate the use and number of visits to a site and may be used to improve the functionality and location of content and pages.
When visiting FA’s website, you may be prompted by your browser to accept the use of cookies. Some of the cookies used by FA are set by us, and some are set by third parties delivering services on our behalf. You may opt out of the placement of cookies in the browser however, you may lose some functionality of the site.

WEBSITE ANALYTICS
FA uses Google Analytics to inform us how our website is used and to improve its functionality. The information collected may include how often a user visits the site, pages within the site, and what other sites may have been viewed before landing at our site. Google collects the IP address assigned to your device on the date of the visit but not your PII and we do not combine the information collected by Google with PII. 

Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy. The Google Analytics Terms of Service are available online at www.google.com/analytics/tos.html. The Google Privacy Policy is available online at www.google.com/privacypolic.html. You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits to this site by disabling cookies on your browser. The information transmitted to Google does not include PII.
 
THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS
FA partners with other companies to provide services on our behalf. We only provide those companies with the information they need to deliver services. We strive to ensure that all our partners and service providers uphold the same privacy standards to which we subscribe. However, please be aware that when you use an external site or service, the privacy policy and data processing disclosures for that site or service govern.

MOBILE INFORMATION
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with third parties.

INFORMATION PROTECTION
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information. When we collect or transmit sensitive information, such as a credit or debit card number, we use industry-standard methods to protect that information. Credit and debit card information is used solely to complete a specific transaction and such information is not retained in our database.
 
While FA strives to protect your information, we cannot guarantee security. You are also responsible for taking reasonable steps to protect your personal information against unauthorized disclosure or misuse.
 
ACCESSING, UPDATING, AND RETAINING INFORMATION
You may request that we modify, hide, or delete personal information that you have provided to us by emailing us at info@falmouthacademy.org. If you have a “MyFA” account, certain information can be modified, hidden, updated, or removed directly by you through your “MyFA” profile. We store PII only as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, for the period required by law, or as long as is necessary for our business purposes.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
FA maintains the right to amend this Privacy Policy without prior notice by posting a revised Privacy Policy to this site. Alternatively, we may provide supplemental privacy notices on occasions when we are processing personal data about you. Those supplemental notices should be read together with this Privacy Policy. The continued use of our website after any changes to the Privacy Policy will constitute an acceptance of those changes.
