Orton-Gillingham
Orton-Gillingham tutoring is available in grades 7 through 9.
Falmouth Academy offers students in grades 7 through 9 with language-based learning disabilities, such as dyslexia, Orton-Gillingham tutoring two times per week, depending on need.
Students with dyslexia and other related disabilities who have had remedial reading or writing support through their elementary years often benefit from additional intensive study of the English language during middle school. The level of language support needed for students varies greatly.
To ensure academic success for these students, Falmouth Academy seriously considers the level of support each student requires prior to enrollment. The level of support is determined by a variety of means: results of formal testing; feedback from teachers, tutors, and parents; and the results of a series of informal assessments conducted by the learning specialist.
