Admissions

Financial Aid

We are committed to making a Falmouth Academy education accessible to all qualified students who want to attend the school, regardless of their family’s financial situation.  Every year, more than 40 percent of Falmouth Academy students receive need-based financial aid.  If you feel that Falmouth Academy might be the right environment for your child, do not be deterred by the tuition amount.  We encourage you to complete the applications for admissions and financial aid.  If your child stands to benefit from this community and contribute to it, and you demonstrate economic need, we will do everything we can to meet that need and make it possible for your child to attend the school.

Because every family’s situation is different, the range of awards is quite wide.  In 2011-12, the average financial aid award was over $10,000.

To receive financial aid or admissions materials or if you have any questions about FA’s financial aid program, please call Director of Admissions Mike Earley at 508-457-9696, x224.

We use the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) developed by the School and Student Service for Financial Aid to evaluate requests for financial aid.  Families applying for financial aid should pay close attention to the specific deadlines for applying for aid, which are:

January 31

Submit the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) This is required from all families, including both custodial and non-custodial parents. The PFS must be mailed to SSS or submitted online by January 31. To complete the PFS online, go to http://sss.nais.org.

February 15

Mail the Business/Farm Statement to Falmouth Academy. This form is required from all families who own a business or farm; one form for each business. Request the Business/Farm Statement when you request the financial aid application.

February 15

Mail a signed copy of 2011 Form 1040 including copies of W-2’s and all attachments to Falmouth Academy. This is required from all families, including both custodial and non-custodial parents.

February 15

Submit the completed IRS Form 4506 to Falmouth Academy.  Families do not need to pay the fee for the Form 4506.

Please be advised that the Financial Aid Committee will not review completed applications for the coming school year until the tuition and fees for the current school year are paid in full.

NOTE: Financial aid review begins February 15th for completed applications of returning students and students applying for admission. Review continues thereafter if financial aid funds are still available. Missing the February 15th financial aid application deadline significantly reduces the likelihood of receiving financial aid. Financial aid decision letters are mailed on March 10th
