Yerma, National Theatre Live

Billie Piper returns to her Olivier award-winning role in one of the most acclaimed productions of last year. Yerma was  broadcast for cinemas from the Young Vic theatre as part of National Theatre Live. Piper plays Her, a women driven to the unthinkable by her desperate desire to have a child in this version of Spanish playwright Lorca’s masterpiece, adapted and directed by acclaimed director Simon Stone. Yerma was one of the most successful shows of 2016 with rave reviews from critics with Billie Piper’s performance hailed as one of the best of the year.

 

National Theatre Live is a groundbreaking project launched in 2009 with the aim of bringing the best of British theater from the London stage to audiences across the UK and around the world. The screenings are recordings of the National Theatre shows and not live simulcasts.
